History


2008


20 December, the first Tiantu rural primary school library is established in Zhuting Primary School in Zhuzhou, Hunan. 

This is the beginning of our journey to promote children’s reading.

 

2010


17 November, Tiantu Education Foundation is officially registered in Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Civil Affairs. 

We start to fully develop many projects.

 

2011


20 November, Tiantu Rural Primary School Teacher Training Program starts. 

The first training session is held in Zhuzhou, Hunan, which is attended by headmasters and teachers from 23 primary schools.

 

2012


28 August, the publication of National Primary School Library Core Book List is announced in the National Library.

 

2013


24 October, Tiantu Education Foundation is renamed to Shenzhen iRead Foundation.

 

2014


1 June, iRead Radio starts broadcasting. Since then, on iRead’s Wechat official account, a story is read to children everyday.

 

2015


4 July, our grantee Zhu Ziqiang’s book Research on Primary School Chinese Literature Curriculum has passed the jury’s review.

 

2016


March, Rural Primary School Library Project is changed to Rural Children’s Reading Grants

 

23 April, early children’s reading program Reading Start is launched.

 

2017


January, Primary School Library Core Book List 2016 is published. The selection process for iRead Top 100 Children’s Books begins.

 

June, iRead College - Early Children’s Reading Promoter Training Course 2017 begins.

 

November, the first National Early Children’s Reading Development and Education Conference is held.

 

2018


April, the first iRead Top 100 Children’s Books is published.

 

July, iRead College - Early Children’s Reading Promoter Training Course 2018 begins.

 

September, the IBBY-iRead Outstanding Reading Promoter Award is established.
